9,100 people were treated for firework related injuries

4th of July is an exciting time in the summer to get together and celebrate our Nation's Indpendence. This day always wraps up with an exciting professional firework show. Please keep in mind that in San Diego County all consumer fireworks are illegal that includes sparklers, firecrackers, cherry bombs, bottle rockets and even poppers.

According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) in 2018 consumer fireworks accounted 19,500 fires including 1,900 structure fires, 500 vehicle fires, and 17,100 outside and other fires. These fires ammouuntes to a total of 5 deaths, 46 injuries and and $105 million in direct property damage. Violating San Diego County's ban on fireworks may cost you $1,000 and a year in jail

Please be mindful of our Veterans suffering from PTSD and pets that run away as a result of the loud noises fireworks cause.
